dieses coin wurde gezeichnet von den zwei jungs des cacherteams thunderbird5, wobei einer unter dem name pirahia-phantom unterwegs ist. sozusagen ein doppeltes personal-geocoin. oder laut eigenen worten:

nach einem entwurf von pirania-phantom zusammen mit und auch für thunderbird5:
«einige bleiben mit den füßen (wurzeln) am boden, andere fliegen in die ferne nach einem 3...2...1...lift-off.»

auf der vorderseite eine rakete, die soeben mit dem countdown «3 ... 2 ... 1 ...» gestartet ist und sich jetzt durchs weltall belegt.

die rückseite ziert das «pirania-phantom».

ein kleines loch (2 mm Ø) macht das relativ schwere coin zum tb.

die rhombus- oder rautenähnliche form (ja, man nennt es richtig parallelogramm oder rhomboid) ist wohl in der 3500-coin-langen geocaching-geschichte noch kaum je verwendet worden.

Der Dutch Rider Geocoin wurde auf Basis einer 1754 entstandenen niederländischen Münze erstellt, die "Rijder" (Reiter) hieß. Es handelte sich hierbei um eine Geldmünze, die es in Silber und Gold gab. Auf der Vorderseite dieses Coins ist diese Münze abgebildet. Das Bild des Reiters wurde schon im Jahrzent zuvor verwendet. Das lateines Motto "Mo No Arg Con Foe Belg Pro Hol" auf der Vorderseite heißt übersetzt: Neuer Silber Coin der Belgischen Föderation (a.k.a. Rebublik der sieben Provinzen), Provinz Holland.

These coins were created to commemorate the cache GC10000 - A New Beginning which marked a significant milestone in the history of geocaching.com that took place on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 3:18am EST. This marked the end of the 6-digit geocaching.com waypoint ID and at the same time the start of the new 7-digit waypoint ID. My cache GC10000 - A New Beginning has the honour of having the first 7-digit waypoint ID of GC10000. This 6" x 4" bamboo coin display stand holds up to 6 coins. It is made from environmentally friendly bamboo and was manufactured in Victoria, BC by EcoFurniture.ca. Each piece is oiled by hand and has a felt base so it will be gentle on the surface where it is placed.

Darkest Dreams - Unsere dunkelsten Träume werden wahr. Wir sind leidenschaftliche Nachtcacher und soweit es uns möglich ist, stürzen wir uns sofort auf jeden neuen Nachtcache in unserer Gegend. Je geheimnisvoller desto besser. Nachtcaches haben ihren ganz besonderen Reiz und Charme, kaum ein anderer Cachetyp bietet mehr Ideenvielfalt und Einfallsreichtum als ein Nachtcache. Zudem baut sich eine tolle bisweilen gar geheimnissvolle und mysteriöse Athmosphäre dabei auf.

Angefangen hat alles mit den berüchtigten "Night Missions" in unserer bayerischen Umgebung. Von Mission Mike über Mission Delta bis zu Mission November waren wir uneingeschränkt begeistert von diesen tollen Caches. Wer hinter diesen tollen Missionen steckt weiss ein jeder der diese Abenteuer gemacht hat. Manch andere kennen ihn auch noch in seiner Funktion als deutscher Reviewer für Geocaches auf www.geocaching.com. Aber bei uns ist er hauptsächlich als Team Guzbach bekannt. Wie oft hörte man den Ausspruch " Ein typischer Guzbach...". Dieses Team, oder nennen wir ihn einfach mal dieser "Guzbach" erstellte dann auch die Web Seite www.nightcaching.org. Selbst ein eigenes Nightcaching Logo ziert die Seite und natürlich ist es auch in den Listings seiner Nachtcaches zu finden. Leider ist diese Seite nicht mehr auf dem aktuellsten Stand und auch "Guzbach" ist nur noch selten unterwegs. Die Zeiten ändern sich eben. Zu Ehren dieses Cachers und als Huldigung und als Dank für seine tollen Nachtcaches, aber natürlich auch weil wir Nachtcachen einfach lieben, haben wir eine Geocoin produzieren lassen. A number of the paintings are made in the village Nuenen (the Netherlands), also the village where the Geocachingshop is located.

On the front. you can see the painting 'Wheatfields with stokes and a Mill' from 1885, on which you can see the Roosdonck mill, which is still there and in use.

A cache is hidden very close to this mill (see GC1N33T ).

The inspiration for this coin, came from the love of the outdoors for the entire Clarkbowman Clan. Backpacking, hiking and camping are all high on our list of favorite things to do. Now that we have falling deep into the world of GeoCaching, in fits in perfectly with all of the above. So why not do a coin with this basic love of the Clan as a theme.

The quote on the back is from Thomas Henry Huxley: "Follow Humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing."

Elements Compass - Water

This was a real colaborative effort. The design was brought to me and I worked on it for a while to get it to what I thought and the original design thought was a reletively nice design. I submitted it to the mint and got artwork back. I was just not 100% on the design and so I took it to one of my favorite designers and she took it to the next level and in doing so I am goign to make a 4 coin set, this being the first of the set. I hope to release one of these everyother month or so until all 4 are made. The enamel colors on the front will change with each and the die for the back will change also.

The front design incorporates the 4 elements as a number of other coins have done. I think the design is where this coin stand out. The details under the translucent enamel for each of the designs is very original and unique.

The back design take the "Water" elements and creates a small compass rose with a similar design to the front fanning out from there. Teh Shark and the fins in the rippilling water add nice effect.

Damselfly 2010

After all the issues with the Dragonfly 2008, I wanted to do a Damselfly in the same theme... except to deliver the coins to the customers. :) Therefore the coin has cutout wings with translucent enamel. Jackalgirl and myself added our own flare to these. I hope you enjoy!

Damselflies (suborder Zygoptera) are insects in the order Odonata. Damselflies are similar to dragonflies, but the adults can be differentiated by the fact that the wings of most damselflies are held along, and parallel to, the body when at rest. Furthermore, the hindwing of the damselfly is essentially similar to the forewing, while the hindwing of the dragonfly broadens near the base, caudal to the connecting point at the body. Damselflies are also usually smaller, weaker fliers than dragonflies, and their eyes are separated.

This coin can definitely be a collector's item or can be a unique gift idea for someone you know!

Über diese Coin:

"Hamburg ist das Tor zur Welt - aber Bremen hat den Schlüssel dazu."

So zumindest sagt es der Volksmund bezogen auf die jeweiligen Stadtwappen der beiden Hansestädte. Der Bremer Schlüssel ist in seinen Ursprüngen ein Himmelsschlüssel. Das bekannte Attribut des Apostels Petrus wird hergeleitet aus dem Bibelwort: »Ich will Dir des Himmelreiches Schlüssel geben« (Matth. 16, Vers 19). Auf dem zusammen mit dem neuen Stadtsiegel 1366 in Gebrauch genommenen kleineren Sekretsiegel sieht man Petrus, den Schutzpatron des Bremer Domes, thronend und unter seinen Füßen einen Wappenschild mit einem gotischen Schlüssel - der älteste Nachweis für das Stadtwappen. Aus dem Schlüssel Petri wurde der Bremer Schlüssel, eines der vielen Wahrzeichen der Stadt Bremen.

Bremen, seit 1945 die "Freie Hansestadt Bremen", bestehend aus den Städten Bremen und Bremerhaven, ist das kleinste Bundesland der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Nicht ohne Stolz verweisen die Bremerinnen und Bremer bei vielen Gelegenheiten auf ihre traditionsreiche, immer wieder angefeindete und bedrohte Selbständigkeit, für die der Bremer Schlüssel ein Symbol ist. Bremen - der Schlüssel zur Welt.

Am 23. November 2003 haben wir als TandT (Tanja und Thorsten) den ersten Cache gefunden. Seitdem ist Geocaching für uns der Schlüssel zu einer neuen Welt geworden in welcher wir viele tolle Caches gefunden und hunderte nette Leute kennengelernt haben.

Über die Coin:

Diese Coin wurde anlässlich der Magdeburger Winterspiele 2010 (GC20AF9) am 16. Januar 2010 kreiert.

Die Frontside der Coin stellt in schlichter aber recht detaillierter Grafik die Magdeburger Halbkugeln dar, eine Hommage an die ruhmreiche technische Geschichte der Stadt Magdeburg und an ihren legendären Bürgermeister, Wissenschaftler und Techniker Herrn Otto von Guericke.

Die Backside der Coin erinnert an den Anlass der Herausgabe, die Magdeburger Winterspiele 2010 und die Herausgeber. Weiterhin trägt sie die GC-Tracking-Number und das Logo des Coin-Schmieds.
Die Hälften beider Seiten sind durch eine Sinuslinie getrennt, die einerseits die Hälftigkeit der Halbkugeln symbolisieren soll und andererseits die Fügung der unterschiedlichen Metalle fertigungstechnisch klar definiert.

Besonderheit: Beide Coins sind 2-tone und jede Edition hat ihr eigenes Icon.

The 2009 Compass Rose Geocoin™ design comes from a mid 1600s Portuguese map of Brazil. It is made with translucent colors and multiple angles in the background. The backside image is an armillary sphere. Armillary spheres were developed a few hundred years before the birth of Christ, modified several times as new discoveries were made, and used until the late 1700s. They were used for navigation, but not as effective as other methods. In addition, they also helped to understand the heavens. They were great at measuring distances in the heavens and tracking movements of planets, comets, and other objects. Rembrandt, son of Harmen van Rijn was born July 15, 1606 in Leiden. Having achieved youthful success as a portrait painter, his later years were marked by personal tragedy and financial hardship. His drawings and paintings were popular throughout his lifetime and his reputation as an artist remained high.

The Night Watch is the common name of one of his most famous works of this Dutch master and is more properly titled The Militia Company of Frans Banning Cocq. It is on prominent display in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Rembrandt died October 4, 1669 in Amsterdam and outlived his wife and son. He was buried in a unmarked grave in the Westerkerk (Western Church) in Amsterdam. Het became on of the most prominent icons of the Dutch Golden Age.

Die erste Augsburger Geocoin

Auf der Suche nach einem passenden Motiv für eine Coin aus Augsburg wurde das Kasperle der Augsburger Puppenkiste bei einem Nachtcache ertappt.
Er ist scheinbar auch ein leidenschaftlicher Geocacher ;-)

Genau das brauchen wir, denn was verbindet man wohl mehr mit Augsburg … die Mozartkugel oder die Puppenkiste.

Nach Klärung der Rechtslage stand der Coin nichts mehr im Wege. Bei einem Interview mit dem Kasperle war dieser ganz angetan von der fertigen Coin.

Besonders freut uns, dass wir von der Stadt Augsburg und von der Augsburger Puppenkiste ganz offiziell die Genehmigung bis zu einer Auflage von max. 300 Stk. erhalten haben. Somit ist diese Coin eine echte LE.

Beschreibung Coin:

Diese Coin widmet sich der größten Festungsanlage Deutschlands: der Bundesfestung in Ulm, die vor 150 Jahren fertiggestellt wurde. Auf der Vorderseite ist das berühmte Blaubeurer Tor in 3d Relief abgebildet, darunter ein Banner mit der Inschrift "Bundesfestung Ulm". Die Rückseite zeigt die wichtigsten Bestandteile der Festungsanlage von der Wilhelmsburg bis hin zu den Forts.

Die Bundesfestung Ulm wurde zwischen 1842 und 1859 als zentraler Waffenplatz des Deutschen Bundes in Süddeutschland erbaut und ist mit einer polygonalen Hauptumwallung von rund 9 km die größte Befestigung des 19. Jahrhunderts! Die Erfahrungen aus den Napoleonischen Kriegen veranlassten die deutschen Staaten ab 1815, ihre Westgrenzen durch die fünf Bundesfestungen Luxemburg, Mainz, Landau, Rastatt und Ulm zu sichern. Darf ich vorstellen: hier ist Edeltraud, das Schaf! Eines von vielen Tieren, denen Du sicher schon während einer Cachertour begegnet bist.

Die Idee entstand schon vor längerer Zeit, da wir große Tierfreunde sind und uns jedesmal freuen, wenn wir bei unseren Cache-Streifzügen den verschiedensten Tieren begegnen. Am häufigsten sind das in unserer Gegend Schafe, natürlich nicht einzeln, eher ganze Herden davon. Auf den Namen Edeltraud hat uns Cacherfreundin "A--Hörnchen" gebracht, die ihrem Plüschschaf diesen Namen gegeben hat ;-)

Die "Geocaching Animals" sollen eine Serie werden, in der künftig z.B. Kühe, Hasen, Rehe, Eulen und vielleicht sogar Schlangen aufgenommen werden sollen.

Fast ein Jahr lang ist nun das Grünmonster schon als Coin unterwegs - nun wurde es Zeit, unserer treuen Begleiterin JESSIE ebenfalls einen eigenen Coin zu gestalten.
Diesen betrachten wir als Tribut an alle cachenden Hunde, bzw. all die vielen treuen Freunde und Begleiter von Cachern.

Deshalb trägt der Coin den Titel "A tribute to caching dogs".

Auch dieser Coin wurde wieder in Zusammenarbeit mit den Landsharkz, Canada, erarbeitet, wobei die Gestaltung einmal mehr mehrheitlich durch unseren jüngsten Sohn Marcel gemacht wurde. Der Coin wurde in einer limitierten Auflage von 300 Exemplaren hergestellt, Ausführung Antik Silber, mit drei Farben Email und einer eingedunkelten Struktur für den Hintergrund. Der blaue Himmel ist aus transluzentem Material.

Die einzelnen Exemplare sind fortlaufend durchnummeriert (1/300 - 300/300)

Es wird auf keinen Fall eine zweite Auflage dieses Coins geben.

Der Caching-Dogs-Coin hat ein sein eigenes Icon - natürlich einen schwarzweissen Hund.

Naymlap Antik Gold + Türkis (LE)

Hier ist sie, meine erste Geocoin: die Naymlap Geocoin. Auf der Vorderseite ist Naymlap zu sehen, Gottheit der Lambayeque-Kultur, die von ca. 700 bis 1300 n. Chr. im heutigen Peru ansässig war.
Auf der Rückseite sind Steinschnitzereien, wie sie in der Chimu-Hauptstadt Chan Chan zu finden sind.
Von oben nach unten: Flusslauf mit Fischen, Pelikane, Seeotter, Fischernetz, Wellen

Chan Chan entstand etwa um 1300 und beherbergte zu ihrem Höhepunkt etwa 60.000 Menschen und war damit die größte südamerikanische Stadt zu dieser Zeit. 1986 wurden die Überreste der Stadt zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe erklärt.
