Geocoin - Golden Spike Geocoin

Description:Golden Spike Geocoin

During GeocoinFest we are introducing the Golden Spike Geocoin. This Geocoin looks like the real Golden Spike which was used in the Coming Together of the Railroads.

On May 10, 1869 the Union Pacific and Central Pacific Railroads were connected at Promontory Summit, Utah. In order to mark the occasion, a golden spike was used to join the two lines, effectively uniting a nation and opening up the West for commerce and travel. This trackable Golden Spike Geocoin commemorates the joining of the lines.

Size: 1.75" x 5mm

This coins is Trackable on Geocaching.com with its own Icon.
